Obituary

On August 18, 2020 Suzanne (Peterson) Keelan passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Suzie is the beloved wife of Sean P. Keelan, cherished mother of Meghan S. Keelan and Brendan P. Keelan, loving sister of Christine (Peterson) and Wayne Collins, Patti (Peterson) and John Winterbottom and Kathy Keelan. Mrs. Keelan was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh J., and Eleanor (Gabura) Peterson.

Suzie was a committed educator, serving the Howard County Public School System for 35 years. An avid beach vacationer, she was in her element with the sun on her face and her toes in the sand... a true sun goddess. Suzie’s family was her greatest joy, no matter the time or place, her favorite times were spent with her loved ones at her side, especially tailgates and watching her children compete in sports. Her radiant personality and inviting spirit made everyone feel like a friend.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday August 24 at 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Glyndon, 65 Sacred Heart Ln., Reisterstown, MD 21136. Interment Crestlawn Memorial Gardens. Please contact the family directly regarding the scheduled visitation. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Suzie’s honor to Carroll Hospital designated to the William E. Kahlert Regional Cancer Center.

Our hearts are breaking as we just learned of Susie’s passing. From college days to teaching to raising children Suzie was always a phone call away and always ready to jump in and help. She was so proud of Megan and Brenden and the adults they are today. Her love and respect for Sean could be seen in her eyes when she looked at him or spoke of him. We will miss her smile. Praying for the peace that passes all understanding that can only come from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Much love, Kurt and Diane

Mrs Keelan, you were a real treasure to Carly. We moved to MWES into your classroom and you immediately welcomed her with open arms. Your humor and smile made her feel right at home. We loved sharing your love of all things Ravens! May God welcome you with the same warm greeting as He brings you home. Blessings and comfort to your family. 💜
