Obituary

Jeanne M. Douglas died peacefully in Catonsville, MD on June 29, 2020. She was 89 years old.

She was the devoted wife of the late Donald J. Douglas and loving mother of R. Gregory (Lynne) Douglas, Keith (Frances Cole Jones) Douglas and Donna (Parker) Bartley. Adoring grandmother of four grandchildren: Maura (Nikhil) Singh, Andrew Douglas, Parker Bartley, Jr., J. Griffin Bartley and one great-grandson, Devin Singh.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Bertha Ryan and one sibling, Arthur Ryan Jr. Jeanne is also survived by her brother, Roy Ryan, two brothers-in-law, four sisters-in-law, many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Jeanne was born and raised in Little Neck, NY. She met her husband when they were teenagers, and they were married for 54 years. She raised her family in Piscataway, NJ and Sag Harbor, NY. Jeanne was a wonderful hostess and loved to entertain family and friends. She greeted everyone with a smile and was incredibly kind, selfless and welcoming. She raised awareness and support for the Cerebral Palsy Association of Middlesex County in New Jersey for many years.

Jeanne’s final years were at St. Joseph Nursing Home in Catonsville, MD. Our family is grateful for the dedicated and loving care she received from the staff and faithful Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate.

A celebration of her life and a Mass of Christian Burial will take place in Sag Harbor at a future date.

Please consider a donation in her memory to the St. Joseph Nursing Home, 1222 Tugwell Drive, Catonsville, MD 21228 or to a charity supporting research and care for Alzheimer’s patients.

The family is very grateful for many expressions of sympathy already received.
