Obituary for Carolina Agostine McPeake

On June 21, 2020, “The Greatest Generation” lost another member as Carolina Agostine McPeake (91) left this world for her Heavenly reward. Surrounded by her loving family, she passed peacefully at her daughter Tina Barnett’s home in Ellicott City, MD. She was a 1946 graduate of Welch High School, Welch, WV and a graduate of the Little French Beauty Academy in Bluefield, WV.

The daughter of a coal-mining family, she was raised in Maitland, WV. She lived in Welch, WV until 1972 when she moved to Georgetown, DE. Since the death of her husband Gerald McPeake in 2017, she lived with her daughters Carolyn Lingo and Tina Barnett. She loved to travel and see the wonderful sights of the United States, as well as making extended visits with family members around the country.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald, her parents Dandolo and Melina Agostine, and her granddaughter Kendra Morgan.

Carolina is survived by her three children Roy Morgan (Barbara) of Longs, SC, Tina Barnett (Rush) of Ellicott City, MD, and Carolyn Lingo (Jim) of Milford, DE; five grandchildren: Heather Ottena (John) of Towson, MD, Josh Barnett (Donna) of New Britain, CT, Lacey Barnett of Woodstock, VA, Morgan Lingo and Courtney Lingo of Milford, DE; and three great grandchildren Carter and Caroline Ottena, and Elliemae Barnett, as well as many extended family.

The family would like to offer our special thanks to the wonderfully caring and professional staff at Gilchrist Hospice for their comforting care of our mother during her final days.
